After pilotting the new CSA Entry Level Referee Course last year, 2009 marks the Province-wide launch of the CSA Entry Level Referee Course. This course was designed by the Canadian Soccer Association with the aim of providing a more uniform approach in teaching the Laws of the Game, leading to a greater degree of uniformity in the understanding and application of the Laws.

As courses are scheduled, they will be listed on this website with a contact person for the individual courses. When a participant sees a course they would like to attend, they are to contact the person specified for that course in order to register for the course. We will begin posting courses in mid-January, 2009. As we receive applications from Club's, the list will be continually updated, so if you do not see a course near to you, check back every few days as new courses are added.

Participants are required to pre-register for the course and complete a pre-course workbook, in-class workbook, and pass an examination at the conclusion of the course. Those who pass the examination will be certified as CSA District Referees (if over the age of 16) or Youth Referees (if under the age of 16).

The following document provides a timeline leading up to the date of the course, and the responsibilities of the club, the OSA, the instructor, and the participants leading up to the course. The other document provides a checklist for the host, to ensure requirements are met in the time leading up to the course.

Hosts are required to read the attached brochure and complete the application form. The hosting requirements have changed from the former C4 course, so hosts must read and understand all of the hosting requirements.
