District Staff Guidelines
  • Must not be a club coach within 2 years (older or younger) of development age groups unless coaching opposite gender
  • Head Coach  must hold a Provincial B License Part I
  • Head Coach invited to assist within the Regional Program
  • Honoraria Position paid by District Association:
    • To Coach District Program
    • To cover expenses to assist within the Regional Program

Club
  • Players U11 & younger
  • Scouting is performed by District Coaches and is ongoing
  • Players are scouted in Club environments
  • Time Frame: May – August (season)
  • District Scouting supported by Regional Coach
  • A District team representing the best players is chosen by District Coach

District
  • Players U12 Years of Age
  • District Associations are responsible for the delivery of the District Program
  • District Teams are selected from Club programs
  • District Teams train 2 to 3 times per month
  • District coach is the Head Coach of the District team
  • Inter-District competition is encouraged
  • District teams participate in a Fall Regional ID Camp within their Region
  • The Regional team is chosen from the best players at the Regional ID Camp

Regional
  • Players U13 Years of Age
    • Regional Coach will select Regional Teams at the conclusion of Regional ID Camps
    • Regional Team will practice 4-6 times per month
    • To support the Pyramid of Play, we encourage all Regional Team players to participate in the District program
    • The door is not closed on a player who does not make it to the Regional or District team as he/she may be invited by the Regional coach to train with the squad
    • Regional teams will participate in the Fall Provincial ID Camp at the Soccer Centre

  • Training must be organized & structured to promote creativity and confidence
  • The model suggested contains technical guidelines for the District Player
  • It is structured to ensure a high level of skill development

Scouting
    • Scouting is ongoing
    • Initial scouting takes place at District ID Camp
    • Secondary scouting will occur from May 1 – July 1
    • New players may be brought into the DTC on trial based on trial based upon recommendations from Club Heading Coaches and or Regional Coach

  • Objective: To showcase District Players for Regional Team selection
  • Dates: Late September 2006
  • Boys & Girls Week-ends
  • Location: Suggested District to host annually
